During the concert, the Punjabi singer spotted a fan in the audience and enquired where she is from. When the woman responded she was from Russia, Diljit jokingly assured her that she is safe. “These are all your brothers,” he said to her, pointing at the crowd. The singer then called her on the stage and handed her a suitcase as a present.
Later, the fan took to social media to thank Diljit for his gesture. The video the fan posted shows her dancing in front of the stage as Diljit performs in the background. The next shot shows her with the suitcase the singer gifted her. “From being a normal girl in the crowd to being the luckiest one tonight,” she wrote.
The concert, the first of two scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in the national capital, saw the singer enthral thousands of fans with his chart-topping tracks like Lover, 5 Taara, Do You Know, Ikk Kudi, and many more.
Dosanjh, dressed in an all-black outfit, complete with a black turban and sunglasses, waved the national flag at the concert’s start. He then saluted in front of the flag, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
Addressing his fans, Diljit said, “Delhi, we had a full house; we sold out. We got permission only for this much; otherwise, we would have done it for three days in a row with a stage at the centre. Thank you guys; I appreciate it,” he said.
The singer will perform again at JLN Stadium on Sunday, October 27. The Dil-Luminati Tour will then traverse through nine other Indian cities through November. The tour is slated to end in Mumbai but a date for that concert has not been announced so far.
The video opens with Diljit welcoming the fan on stage. Diljit’s crew member brought the gift box that had branded shoes, on which the artist gave his autograph. Presenting the same to her, Diljit asked the fan where is she from, and the girl replied “Pakistan.” It filled Diljit’s heart with love and appreciation that his music and Punjabi as a language don’t see borders.
He said that the borders were drawn by politicians, but whoever loves Punjabi sees no boundary. The artist further added anyone present at his show, be it from India or Pakistan, welcomes them with both arms wide open.
“Hindustan, Pakistan , sade layi sara ek hi hai. Punjabiyan de dilan ich sabde layi pyar ae. Ae sarhada, ae borderan, ae politicana ne bnaye hoye ne, par jo Punjabi maa bolne vale hai, vo chahe edr rehnde ne chahe odr rehn dene, sade sare sanjhe ne. So jede mere desh to aye ne, India ton aye ne, ona nu vi swagat niga, te jede Pakistan ton aye ne, una nu vi swagat niga. Thank you ma’am, jordar taaliyan es kudi de layi,” he said.
In the video, he is heard singing the hit track, Dil Tenu Ditta. Upon finishing, he introduced his mother, Sukhwinder Kaur to the world. The Amar Singh Chamkila actor lifted up her hand and proudly shouted, “By the way, this is my mom.”
The emotional moment brought tears to his mother’s eyes. Diljit then turned to another woman, bowed, and shook her hand, introducing her as his sister. “This is my sister and my family has come here today,” he shared.
