Ahan Shetty has joined the cast of the upcoming war film Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. The film, set for release on January 23, 2026, was announced with a teaser welcoming Shetty to the project.

The announcement was shared through a teaser video, generating excitement among fans and the film industry alike.The news was revealed on Instagram with the caption, “Welcoming Fauji @ahan.shetty to the Battalion of #Border2 (sic),” marking Ahan Shetty’s entry into the war film franchise.
The film, set to release on January 23, 2026, promises to be a significant addition to Bollywood’s lineup of patriotic war dramas.
Border 2 will be directed by Anurag Singh, who has previously helmed Kesari, Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet and Dil Bole Hadippa!, among others. The film was announced on June 13, 2024, marking 27 years of Border. It has been declared “India’s biggest war film” by the makers.
If that wasn’t enough, it also claimed that the makers have approached Ayushmann Khurrana as well to play a pivotal role in the film. “(Ayushmann) is still in negotiations with the makers and hasn’t given his final approval yet. Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty is rumoured to be in the cast as well, although we were unable to confirm this. Punjabi actor Ammy Virk, who was recently seen in Bad Newz, was also rumoured to join the film, but it’s unclear if he is still a part of it or Diljit Dosanjh will take on the character initially intended for him,” the report added.
Sunny Deol announced Border 2 in June this year, on the 27th anniversary of Border. Sunny shared a video in which we can hear his voice saying ‘27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.” The caption read, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.” As soon as the video was shared, fans started commenting. Many fans wrote, ‘Super excited.” Many even called it blockbuster.
