He was found unresponsive in the office washroom and was rushed to AIIMS Nagpur, where he was pronounced dead. HCLTech expressed deep sorrow and is providing assistance to his family.
A senior analyst at HCLTechnologies Ltd., Nitin Edwin Michael, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at the company’s Nagpur office. Michael, 40, was discovered unresponsive in the office washroom around 7 pm on Friday evening. Colleagues gave emergency care at the on-site clinic and then took him to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Local police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the incident. Initial autopsy reports indicate that Michael died from cardiac arrest. He leaves behind a wife and a six-year-old son, according to the police.

HCLTech released a statement expressing deep sorrow over Michael’s death, referring to it as an unfortunate incident and a tragic loss. The company highlighted that they provided immediate emergency care and transported him to the hospital. HCLTech also mentioned it is offering support to Michael’s family.
A company spokesperson stated, “This is an unfortunate incident and a tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased employee and are providing all possible assistance to them. In this incident, the employee was provided emergency support at the campus healthcare clinic and rushed to the hospital. The wellbeing of our people is of utmost priority and HCLTech provides healthcare programs for all its employees and their families, including on-campus clinics and annual preventive health checks.”
His colleagues rushed him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Nagpur where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival, said the official from Sonegaon police station on Sunday.
Police sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case of accidental death.
Initial autopsy findings indicated Michael died of cardiac arrest, the official said, adding that they are probing the circumstances surrounding his death.
Michael is survived by his wife and a six-year-old son, according to police.
Calling Michael’s death an unfortunate incident and tragic loss, HCLTech said he was provided emergency healthcare support at the campus clinic and rushed to the hospital.
