A helicopter carrying chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar and additional chief election officer of Uttarakhand Vijay Kumar Jogdand made an emergency landing in Pithoragarh district on Wednesday, ANI reported.

All the people on board the helicopter are safe, the Uttarakhand government said. The helicopter was carrying Kumar and Jogdand to Munsiyari.
A helicopter carrying Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India made an emergency landing in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, on Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions. The chopper was en route to Milam when it was forced to land in Ralam, a remote area near Munsiyari, amid bad weather.
State Deputy Chief Election Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande was also on board the helicopter at the time of the incident. Both officials are reported to be safe, and no injuries have been reported.
The helicopter had been flying over the mountainous region when deteriorating weather conditions prompted the pilot to make the precautionary landing. Officials are assessing the situation, and further updates are expected.
Local authorities have been alerted, and steps are being taken to ensure the safety of the CEC and accompanying officials as weather conditions stabilise.
