- UN peacekeeping chief tells Security Council that safety and security of peacekeepers in Lebanon is “increasingly in jeopardy” as Israeli forces open fire on UNIFIL posts in country’s south, injuring two.
- UN investigators said Israel is committing “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in its deliberate attacks on healthcare facilities and medical personnel in Gaza.
- Medical sources tell Al Jazeera that 63 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip on Thursday as a weeklong military siege by Israel in the territory’s north continues to intensify.
- In Gaza, at least 42,065 people have been killed and 97,886 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 2023. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 people were taken captive.
Israeli forces bombed central Beirut with a deadly airstrikes on October 10 evening. Lebanon’s health ministry said 22 people were killed and 117 others were injured. The Israeli airstrikes were aimed at targeting a senior Hezbollah member. Reuters said Wafiq Safa, Hezbollah’s Liason and Coordination Unit chief, was said to be the target but he managed to escape. Meanwhile, Israeli forces intensified ground ops in southern Lebanon.
Israeli military shoots downs drone in Ashkelon
The Israeli military has said it shot down the drone after it crossed into Israel and set off sirens in the coastal city of Ashkelon, which lies just north of Gaza.
It did not say where the drone came from and no group has immediately claimed responsibility for it. It comes soon after an armed group in Iraq said it fired a drone at the Red Sea city of Eilat in southern Israel.
Sirens have also sounded in the Upper Galilee area of northern Israel, including Acre and surrounding communities close to the Lebanon border, warning of an incoming rocket.
Israeli soldiers arrest 8 Palestinians in occupied West Bank
Israeli forces have arrested eight Palestinians overnight and early this morning in the occupied West Bank.
Soldiers raided Yatma, Beit Dajan and Beita in the Nablus governorate, Yatta in Hebron, Azzun in Qalqilya, al-Mughayyir, Deir Dibwan and Burqa in Ramallah, and Hizma in the northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
We reported earlier that two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone air strike on a car near the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem, and the Israeli forces took their bodies. The Israeli army claimed one of them was the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the camp.
The total number of people killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied West Bank since Israel’s war on Gaza began more than a year ago has reached 751, including about 160 minors. More than 6,200 have been wounded and 11,000 arrested in the Palestinian territory.

We will bring you more information on this attack when we have it.
sraeli air attacks destroy healthcare facility on Syria-Lebanon border
The Iranian Red Crescent says Israel has hit its field hospital on the Syria-Lebanon border.
The director of the organisation says the attack destroyed the medical facility along with ambulances, medical supplies and equipment.
“Supplies, including food, medical items, and equipment, were stationed there, clearly marked with Red Crescent flags,” Pir Hossein Kolivand, head of the Iranian Red Crescent, said.
“It was evident from the air and the ground that the location was designated for healthcare services, emergency relief, and temporary shelter. Unfortunately, early this morning, the site was targeted by the Zionist regime. Everything was destroyed.”
Israeli air raids on central Beirut very concerning
There have been air raids on southern Lebanon overnight. The most serious incident took place in Beirut, in the neighbourhood of Basta, where 22 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in two air attacks.
This is not the southern suburbs. This is not southern Lebanon. This is a working-class neighbourhood in the centre of Beirut. It doesn’t have any public connotation with Hezbollah or any other political faction in that area. And this attack came without notice.
It’s the third Israeli air raid on central Beirut in 10 days. People who live in the southern suburbs have seen their lives destroyed. But now we’re seeing central Beirut as a target and without warning – that’s very concerning to the international community.
Israeli military withholds bodies of two killed in West Bank drone strike
Al Jazeera is reporting from Jordan because it has been banned from Israel and the occupied West Bank.
There isn’t a day when Israeli occupation soldiers do not raid a specific town or community in the occupied West Bank.
We saw raids on Hizma, on Qalqilya, and also a small raid into areas in Hebron as well. There were some clashes in Hebron and one person was reported to be gravely injured and several arrests, which is also in line with the pattern.
What we also saw overnight was an Israeli assassination of two Palestinians in the Nur Shams camp. Now we’ve see other assassination happen in the past few days. So there is a higher rate of these hits that the Israeli forces are conducting.
Two men believed to be associated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad were confirmed dead.
The announcement of their killing was made by the Israeli army, but their bodies are being withheld by the Israeli army along with more than 100 others detained over the past 12 months and more.
Infant among 4 killed in Israeli attack on shelter
Israel has bombed a clinic in Gaza that was being used as a shelter. At least four people have been killed and many others wounded.
“This morning, while I was doing my lessons, the building was hit with a missile. I started screaming and crying. I ran down to see all those children killed,” a Palestinian girl who survived the attack told Al Jazeera.
A man who was also present at the time of the attack said: “We were sitting peacefully and all of a sudden, there was a huge explosion.
“A missile was fired on us, right through the top of the building. A months-old baby girl was blown to pieces in the upper floors. Down here, many innocent civilians were killed. There are no resistance fighters or militants here. This is a war crime.”
